Greenfield Youth Film Festival
The Greenfield Youth Film Festival got its start in 2005 when trustees Jill Greenfield Feldman and her husband, Ron, met with representatives from the Township and School District of Upper Dublin to ask for suggestions and ideas of what could improve their community and the consensus was a student film festival. Year one included a full-day workshop attended by students from five nearby high schools taught by university professors and professional filmmakers. The students made their own films which were watched and critiqued by judges and, in the spring, culminated with a red-carpet event at the Ambler Theatre. The theatre overflowed with audience members, proving from the start that this was something that students, parents, teachers, and even community members enjoyed. The event has since moved to the Performing Arts Center at Upper Dublin High School.

The Festival
Approximately 20 high schools from the greater Philadelphia area participate in the Festival each year. The November workshop, a full-day event taught by professional filmmakers hosts approximately 350 students and teachers. Professional filmmakers with various specialties work with students providing ideas, tips, and guidelines with the expectation that it will be helpful whether the students are thinking about entering the field, studying it in college or making a film for the festival. Both the workshop and the event in April (complete with a live band) are hosted by Upper Dublin High School. Approximately 20 awards are given each year for best Narrative, Documentary and Experimental Films as well as Best Comedy, Public Service Announcement, Director, Cinematography and Sound Effects.

T-shirt & Poster Design Competition
Every year a competition is held among participating schools to design the shirts and posters that will be distributed in November at the GYFF workshop. The 2026 winning t-shirt was designed by Rayne F., a senior at Upper Dublin High School. The winning poster was designed by Christopher C., a senior at Upper Dublin High School.
